How I Got Into Jewelry Making

I picked up the hobby of ceramics in a summer college class.  It was great, and I was good at it.  "That's the nicest pot I've ever seen," said my instructor.  "Really?" I questioned.  He affirmed.  I was thrilled to hear this coming from an instructor who was in his seventies!  Although I loved making ceramics, it wasn't something I could continue doing on my own.  I didn't own a kiln or a wheel.  When I discovered polymer clay, I was excited to learn I can make beautiful little things right in my own oven: no kiln necessary!  I began to make polymer clay beads, but didn't know how to make jewelry.  That led to the next obvious step.  I walked into a bead store and learned how to make my first loop.  That day changed the course of my life.  Eventually, I went from being a third grade teacher, to taking on jewelry as a full time occupation.  In January of 2008, Sheret Jewelry was born.  I still love to teach, so a big part of my jewelry making career revolves around teaching women and children how to make jewelry.  Thank G-d, my life includes the best of both worlds!

My Inspiration

G-d is my inspiration!  He created an Awesome world with His Signature designs, full of vibrant color, intricacy, and beauty.  I am always inspired by flowers and since I was a little girl, I've loved drawing curvy flowers.  I now enjoy handcrafting wearable sparkly flowers!  I hope to use my talent to bring more joy, beauty and spirituality into the world.  As you wear your new piece, I hope you will see in it the beauty of nature and remember that G-d is always with you and loves more than words can convey.

 About My Jewelry

Sheret Jewelry carries a beautiful collection of wearable art that appeals to all age groups of women. The designs range from casual to elegant and everything in between. You'll find carefully handcrafted unique lines of necklaces, sets, earrings, bracelets, rings, brooches, and Judaica jewelry. The pieces are wire-wrapped and wire-sculpted to produce unique curves and curls with          14kt. Gold Filled, Sterling Silver, and Argentium Silver wire.

Some pieces, such as the ones made of polymer clay and those that are wire-sculpted, are one-of-a-kind and cannot be reproduced exactly, but similarly.  Most of the earrings, necklaces, and bracelets will be accurate reproductions of the pictures presented.

At the moment I handcraft each piece myself.  If you don't find exactly what you're looking for on my site,I am open to helping you create the design of your dreams.  Just email me at Sheret@SheretJewelry.com and I'd be glad to discuss a custom piece, a slight change to an existing piece, an additional color option, or any other jewelry inquiry.

If you live in the Los Angeles area, consider the possibility of providing jewelry making entertainment at your next special occasion.  I can provide your guests with what they need to string on their choice of beads, and I can finish off their projects for them by attaching the ending.  For example, I can provide a cord already connected to a clasp to start off a necklace or bracelet, and once they are finished stringing on their choice of beads, I can attach the other end of the clasp.  Or alternatively, I can teach a formal lesson where ladies can learn to start and end their own necklaces, bracelets, or earrings.  Your guests will thank you for it and have loads of fun creating their own jewelry!
